Pregnancy Perks

With less than 3 weeks until Baby Super is scheduled to arrive, I am getting quite large. Baby is putting on about half a pound a week, and my abdomen is stretching beyond what I had imagined possible. I decided it would be helpful to list the advantages of such a largeness and not dwell on the disadvantages such as not being able to tie one’s shoes or fit into a standard size bathroom stall without hitting your stomach with the door…

The primary advantage is that we get to meet Baby soon! The nursery is ready and our hospital bags are almost packed. Now we wait until the apple is ripe to fall from the tree, as my grandfather said. Since I am in my ninth month, there is no longer any mistaking that I am pregnant. Strangers love to talk to you when you are this big and ask questions like, “are you sure you aren’t having twins?” (this has happened twice!) and at HEB the checkers come out from behind their stations and help you unload your grocery cart AND insist that the bagger has nothing better to do than help you out to your car. This had never happened to me before in College Station, and today, I took him up on his offer and oh the luxury! All kinds of people want to know how you are doing and when you are due. Its nice to have an easy conversation starter with people, and to hear all about their childbirth experiences. I am sure that Baby will be that too someday. Well,as I feel my hips aching that’s about all of the advantages I can think of right now, so here is a photo of the belly, enjoy.

Whoa!

Wow! You ARE huge… and beautiful! It is stinking amazing how our bodies can expand and retract like they do. God is wonderful in His meticulous design. By the way… the HEB people probably ask to help you so that you won’t go into labor in their store! :)

You know, not to take away from the beauty and reverence of it, but if you look at that picture just right, it looks like you’re holding a watermelon.
I’ve been playing a lot of boggle lately, and I always dominate. I think that you are the only one that beats me. I am in awe of your boggle prowess.
