Feet!

May 26th, 2006 by Rachel

Josiah has found his feet, and they amuse him most of the day. His flexibility is amazing as he can grab onto his foot and hold it while he plays. Here are some pictures of his new-found fun.

Who you calling Chicken Little?

May 19th, 2006 by Rachel

The chicks didn’t stay chicks for long. They are full fledged chickens now. We let them roam around the yard the other day, and thankfully, they didn’t even try to fly over the fence. This is Maria and Angelie playing with Thomas. Soon they will move out to the Frank’s place, be renamed Chicken a la King and Chicken Pot Pie and hopefully not get attacked by the wiser country chickens.

First Laughs

May 15th, 2006 by Rachel

Josiah started amazing us with his first laughs. Apparently, only Thomas is funny enough to get a laugh out of him. The first happened during his bath last night. This video was tonight just before bedtime as he was playing with Thomas. Its so cute! Enjoy!

Three Months

May 8th, 2006 by Rachel

Josiah turned three months old on Sunday, can you believe it? He is growing so fast and is such a joy to take care of and watch him learn and grow. Josiah is putting on the pounds and is getting heavy to lug around, and his head control improves daily. He amused everyone sitting behind us at church as he craned his neck to see them. He spends his hours eating, napping, going to the bathroom, grabbing whatever is in reach and trying to put it in his mouth, blowing spit bubbles, smiling and “talking”. His verbalizing is one of our favorite things. He’ll carry on a “conversation” for a few minutes and if he isn’t very happy, he will pretend to cry, but it sounds more like a whine. I guess it is better than a kid that really cries every time he is a little unhappy. He has even attempted a giggle a few times. Josiah is a masterful roller from his back to side–he can then go to his stomach, but he doesn’t like being there so he rarely does it. We are working on rolling from his stomach to back, and he is getting closer everyday. Apparently, he is proficient in rolling around in a circle, all the while on his back, while sleeping. Everytime we check on him in the night (or go in to feed him), he is turned with his head almost opposite where it started. One morning he had made it all the way around, back to starting position!

I guess that’s enough bragging on our boy. He is a joy to be around, I hope you can see him soon! Check out the updated pictures from this month by following the photos link.
