Colorado Trip
We’re back! We had quite the vacation–ten days in Colorado. We drove over 900 miles while there, saw all sorts of wonders, had good friend time, good family time and recreation to boot. You can see all of our pictures here. I even wrote captions.
We went to Boulder for the first four days where Thomas did some rock climbing with Elijah. The McConnell’s were wonderful hosts and made traveling with a seven-month-old much easier. After dropping off Elijah at the airport on Tuesday, we headed out to Allenspark, a tiny little speck of a town about 15 miles from Estes Park, on the edge of Rocky Mountain National Park. We rented a sweet cabin in the woods for a three nights and spent our days hiking around the Park and enjoying the fine dining Estes Park has to offer (if you are ever there, check out The Egg and I–it was so good, or maybe we were just so hungry). From there, we drove out to Vail to visit Ross and Vanessa, almost a full year after we were there for their wedding. Then we were back to Boulder for a night and we flew out of Denver the next morning. It was a lot of traveling, but we had a great time and got to see some wonderful sights and spend time with wonderful people. Here is a rather ghetto map of our travels, our route is the messy fushia line in case you couldn’t tell:
