We Made the Switch

We are officially cloth diaperers now. After many months of thinking about it, discussing it, and just not being sure, a sweet friend let us borrow some of her diapers to decide for ourselves. We loved them, and love the idea of getting to use them for subsequent children, too. We figured that cloth is cheaper to be used for Josiah, and then we won’t have to pay anything for future “kid’s” diapers. I placed our order and we got them in the mail shortly. Our little boy looks so cute in his little diapers!

Perhaps you are thinking that we are ridiculous and that you will never talk to me (Rachel) again because I will be so busy washing diapers. Alas, this is not the case. These diapers, FuzziBunz, are so easy to use. They are pocket diapers, so the insert goes inside and all you do is pull it out and wash them all together. We line dry our diapers, but dry the inserts in the drier for absorbancy reasons. I know what you’re thinking, “what about the poop?” Well, with FuzziBunz, there is no swishing them in the toilet, just shake off into the toilet what comes off, and wash the rest. We think they are great, and if you are interested in ordering some, I received great customer service here.
love it, you better be ready for all my phone calls when we start having kids. :)
I went over to a friend’s house where they use them & I just couldn’t get over how much more fashionable these cloth diapers are–mine used to be square white cloths. way to go!
Is that really a picture of your diapers in your yard taken with your camera? If so…it looks like a magazine picture!
here’s a good idea…
teach that kid to shi- i mean sit in the commode.
Thanks Heather, yes, those are really our diapers hanging on the line my sweet husband put up for me in our yard.
Rachel, you probably don’t know me. I stumbled onto your blog from christine hoover’s blog. But I think these diapers are great! I don’t have kids yet, but I like to try to do my part for the environment and I’ve always thought that cloth diapers would be so much better from that perspective. Not to mention the personal cost. I’m glad to know that there’s a reliable brand out there for when I do have kids!
way to be a responsible consumer.
Kudos to the Supercinskis. Laura and I are also going to use cloth diapers for our little bundle of joy (T-minus 2 months!). We are going to use the “ReUZ’m Elite” diapers from http://www.bluepenguin.biz. And I think we are going to get some FuzziBunz, too. I’m glad to hear that you guys are doing that. Most of our friends and family just think we spent too much time on the Left Coast and now we’re kooks.
