Ah, Weekends
We have had some wonderful weekends this month, full of visitors. Our guestbed was occupied for the past 3 weekends! This past weekend was an especially good one, full of friends, babies, and outdoor activities. Saturday, we went for a family jog around the neighborhood and later walked to a craft fair held at nearby school. That afternoon, we went to Josiah’s friend’s first birthday party (her parents are our friends also and were in our childbirth class–time flies), then went to a work party for Thomas, and then met another friend’s new baby. Later, Steven and Sharla came over and we talked until the wee hours. After church on Sunday, we tried out a new Mexican restaurant in town, bid Steven and Sharla farewell, and headed for our favorite family, good-weather, Sunday-afternoon, tradition.

This tradition started when I was pregnant. We’d go to this park and walk around until it was time for our childbirth class. Now that we have a jogging stroller, we take the boy with us too. You need big wheels to walk at this park. It’s off the beaten path and the paths have taken a beating from horses, bikes and flash floods.

I love going there where it’s so quiet you can hear animals (or birds) in the woods. It’s refreshing to get away from city noises and cement, to romp around on rocky paths, over creeks and enjoy the crisp, autumn air. Does anyone know, or want to guess, our favorite city park?
lick creek park!
I’m going to go with Lick Creek too… the only other place it looks like is a place I once found in the Station, but I’m pretty sure it wasn’t a park, I just happened upon it, and I can’t for the life of me remember how I got there at this point in time…
