After your post on book reccomends, I borrowed Affluenza from the local library for fun reading on the trip I was on, thanks for the tip. Was so challenged and fascinated. I'm currently in seminary working on my MDiv and I'm taking an ethics class this summer for which I'm required to do a research paper on the topic of my choice. I decided to do it on The Ethics of Wealth and Affluence, in part because of the book! (and some other things that the Lord has been challenging me on). In fact, I'm speaking tonight at our campus ministry about the discipline of simplicity. Anyway, just wanted to say that I am excited to read more on practical ways you guys are making choices to honor God by your lifestyle, thanks for writing! You're an encouragement. Love to you! I am so baffled when I hear my friends say "God will end the world in His time so there's no reason for us to recycle." Worst possible logic I've ever heard! He entrusted us as stewards of the earth, not so that we could trash it, but so that we could care for it. I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but this topic is important to me. DH and I both grew up in fairly green-conscious families and we want to really be better about it ourselves. I look forward to more posts about this!!!! :) I completely agree!
