Trains!
Josiah loves anything related to trains these days–playing with them, seeing them (thankfully there are many in this town), watching them, etc. I purchased a simple wooden train set several months ago with some gift money Josiah had received from a distant relative, and it had been taking up our entire coffee table for the last several weeks. Then, we got a free train/car track table from a lady in my mom’s group!
This is what it looked like when we got it. The other side of the top is a car race track, which we left in tact.
After a few coats of paint, this is what we have now:
And a very excited little boy (and a living room that looks like a daycare, but I guess that’s what it is!)

Brilliant idea to put the table over the car mat! I hadn’t thought of that! I’m going to do that now. Double the trouble, double the fun!

Trains are the greatest thing for little boys! Jacob got his first “Thomas” set when he was 19 months, 3 weeks before his sister was born. He slept with those little trains every night, and at 5 years now, he’s still playing with them!

He sure does love trains!! Before I was a parent I swore my living room would be free of toys. It is obviously not but I’m not bothered by it. Funny how kids change you.
