Surprise!

We woke up one morning last week to see this lovely site at the end of our driveway. All day long, I expected someone to come by, confess, and offer to pay to have it fixed. They never came. Now it lays there, with the mailman still putting the mail in it just the same, and we are looking for someone to fix it. Anyone know a good mason?

I do not know of any good masons (nor do I know of any masons period). I do, however, know that in my 12 years of living at 3226 Kenilworth in Arlington I awoke five times to a similar sight. The difference being that often our mailbox wasn’t in one piece as it lay dead on the ground. Another part of my story that is different than yours: our mail man would have nothing of getting out of his mail-man-car to put our mail in the recently leveled mailbox. We had to get a P.O. Box.

After we had fixed this mysterious problem four times, we decided to mix things up on the fifth. We moved the mailbox to the left side of the sidewalk as opposed to the right side, and even though the Oliver’s don’t, that’s where the mailbox resides to this day.

    The End.

Was the Ron Paul sign intact?

You know, Steven, we were suspecting that the driver was probably intoxicated and the sign distracted him, causing him to hit the mailbox and then keep going.

Yes, the sign is very much still intact, thank you for asking.
