Party with the Grandparents

Josiah’s birthday is later this week, and we were able to celebrate with two out of three sets of grandparents this weekend. Thomas’ dad has the flu, so they couldn’t make it, though we appreciate them protecting us from the flu!

Josiah loved all the attention he received from two sets of doting grandparents, and his new car.

His next favorite thing would probably be everyone singing “Happy Birthday” to him. He asked us to sing it again as soon as he blew out the candles (with help from Thomas), which we did. Then, he asked us to sing it again. We told him it was time to eat cake, at which he started demanding, “Pa sing it! Gigi sing it!” He soon forgot in light of the ice cream. He isn’t much of a cake eater, I guess.

His face when we were singing to him the second time:

Yes, my son had light purple icing on his cake, but I don’t think he noticed. It was a last minute decision to decorate it, and the only thing I could think of to dye frosting in a hurry was blueberries, and it worked!

Happy Birthday, Josiah! My birthday is this week too!

Rachel, I just made those burritoes you posted several months ago. They are delicious and perfect for us for Fridays in Lent!
