Annalise’s Birthday Party
We celebrated Annalise’s first birthday a few days early with her grandparents. It was nice and low-key and great to see everyone.

Annalise really enjoyed everyone singing to her and clapped the whole way through the song. Josiah, on the other hand, was screaming and crying the whole time we sang. This seems to be a trend for him the past year. I apologize to all of the countless kids whose songs he has cried through. Anyway…

Josiah had insisted that Annalise needed a ladybug ice cream cake (I have no idea where he got that idea but he was very consistent and adamant about it), so I went ahead and made one. It was easy and turned out well. I crushed organic chocolate cookies for the bottom and froze them in a springform pan, added homemade vanilla ice cream (dyed pink with beet juice) and decorated with more cookies. Easy peasey, only 10 minutes hands-on time. I forgot antenna, though. Annalise ate a cookie for the first time and loved it, hence the missing spot below.

That cake rules, and Annalise is adorable.
I just really don’t think that girl could be any more gorgeous! Really? She’s a precious little pie!
Happy Birthday Sweet Girl!

Oh, she is so precious! I think she is starting to look a lot like you, Rachel. I love the cake. Dean was adamant about what kind of birthday Reed needed, too!
