Interview with Bud at 6
Better late than never! My friend, Megan, interviews her boys at their birthdays and half-birthdays, asking them the same questions each time. I think this is a great idea, and I have been meaning to copy it for a long time, but finally got around to it.
What is your favorite color? brown and green
What is your favorite food? Kroger chicken (rotisserie)
Favorite animal? crocodile and dinosaur
What are you really good at? building things and soccer
What are you not so good at? jump roping and basketball
Who are your favorite friends? Matthew, Langston, Grant, Levi, Tucker, Stanley, Shayne, Samuel, Luke, Celeste, Victoria, Evangeline, Afton…. (I cut him off since he was starting to name every child he knows.)
What is your favorite part of school? Reading
What is the best thing about having a brother? We are both kind of the same and play together
What is the best thing about having a sister? Building things with her and when she scares me
How are you different from Sugar? She’s a girl with long hair
What does Sugar do that makes you mad? she throws toys at me and squishes mud on me sometimes
What do you want to do when you grow up? build log cabins
If you had a lot of money, what do you think you would buy? an oven, stove, saw, other materials for building log cabins, food…
What is the best thing about your mom? She does school with me and she works with me in the garden and helps me clean up my room
What is the best thing about your dad? he makes me laugh and scares me when we play hide and seek
Tell me something that is really funny. There was a chicken trying to cross the road. You know why? He wanted to lay eggs on the other side.
What is your favorite thing to wear? My batman shirt and my superman shirt and comfy shorts
What makes you cry? Daddy scaring me, being scared by big dogs
What does love mean? You like someone
What does it mean to be a good friend? You play together
What makes you worried? If we are going in a boat across a lake that is really far (for the record, he has never been in a boat)
What does it feel like to be 6? I’m older than other kids, play more, think more. I’m not as scared of things.
Who is your favorite song? Bill of Rights (from the Classical Conversations history memory work)
What were some of the best things you did this past year? running, playing hide and seek
What is your favorite book? Tintin, Wingfeather Books, and Henry and Mudge books
